From petroglyphs to
present day abstract art, man has depicted the seasons of the year in all manner
of form. Autumn was not a part of this history, so I created him. Making Spring
female was also my own choice. Artistic liberties were taken with the hair of
each character to accentuate their season's identity. Daisies were added to Spring's
tresses and to Autumn's , the hair was made to resemble twigs with dried leaves.
Summer's hair appears as flames or heat waves and Winter with his mane of curls
frozen in place.
Spring's
face is young and full of innocent wonder over the new life she brings to man
and matter. Summer is happy times with blue skies, warm breezes, beaches, baseball
and picnics. Autumn goes into hibernation and sleeps while Winter huffs and puffs
with a vengeance.
Bonded bronze, approx. 12" wide. Set of four.
