ALOHA

This sculpture is all about the term, ALOHA. Over the years of living on the island of Maui, I've come to understand the Hawaiian culture and language much better and in the process learned the deeper meaning of the word. Aloha is an embracing word used both as a greeting and farewell. It's not just a salutation, but a state of mind as well that knows no hostility. It is a welcome without prejudice, judgment, or question.

Two people in this sculpture hug one another and in an uninhibited spirit of welcome, simultaneously reaching out to others to join in their expression of friendship. It is a gentle and constant reminder of God's principle of loving one another without qualification.

Bonded Terra Cotta, approx. 17" high, 12" wide. Sold out
