In
my youth, I was an avid day dreamer. I drifted into incredible imaginary
trips that took me over the earth and into the heavens. As I grew
older though, I found myself slipping away from day dreams into reminiscing.
Day dreaming is a time when we can play with visions of having all
our ideals, wishes and wants fulfilled.
This
sculpture came about as a consequence of many hours on Maui beaches
where one is mesmerized by the sea, the sun and the breeze in transport
with dreams. I created this sculpture to encourage day dreaming. As
for me, that I have what I have and live as I live are long ago day
dreams, fulfilled.
