GOOD NEWS

The inspiration for this work came from a friend who in her mid fifties and after six years of widowhood announced that the man whom she had been dating asked her to marry him.

All the time I was working with this piece, I felt her thrill, her elation. I wanted others who saw this work to feel the same excitement, the lightness of foot over good news as she was. Suspended with arms outstretched, pivoting on one foot and balanced by her extended leg, her hefty bronze body portrays an image of complete weightlessness. Every time I look at this sculpture with its vitality and freedom, my blues disappear. One cannot look at this piece and not smile.

Bronze, approx. 12-1/2" high, 7" wide. Limited Edition of 200.
