THE HOMETEAM

This is one of those pieces whose idea came to my mind in the dead of night and was completed within the week. Tigger is the gray cat and Sammy is the black one with the little white arrow on her chest. Portraits are my forte, but I had never done one of our cats. Their personalities were so opposite and distinct, I decided to do them in caricature. Tigger was a huge, laid back, pondering type of male. An exceptionally nice guy, but he was one that didn't put up with any nonsense from another feline, male or female. Sammy on the other hand, was an over tight banjo string. She was also a diva in the fullest sense of the term. Only in this sculpture were Tigger and Sammy ever this close to one another in peace. Both cats are gone now, but this sculpture and the memories it stores will be with us until we too are gone.

Laminated wood and acrylic, 29" high, 32" wide. NFS
