This
is a work of triumph, not depression. Everyone who has lost knows the agony of
defeat. Introspection provides the clues to our shortfall. It's a process of reflection
and self examination on how we might have done differently or better. It's the
means of perfecting ourselves for the next challenge. We find too, renewal and
the courage to go on. Although the sculpture's pose is fetal, the figure's hand
planted firmly on the ground is an act of pushing back up. The outstretched arm
signifies a rebirth of hope, a reaching out, a new attitude, the unfolding of
a new life. IT IS TRIUMPH.
