MOTHER AND CHILD

This sculpture began, strangely enough, examining a hard boiled egg cut in half, lengthwise. The yoke ensconced in the white made a complete and perfect union. I saw the same natural bond between a mother and the fruit of her egg, her child. Putting this union of mother and child and the egg's perfect design together as one establishes this sculpture as a classic.

I believe there is a bond between a mother and a child that a father can never experience and it is what I have tried to portray in this work. Its contours welcome the viewer's caress. To gently brush this sculpture with an open hand is to acknowledge the Mother and her child and the union they share.

Bronze, approx. 12" high, 10" wide. Limited Edition of 200.
